He was pushing AI on every hand because he was short stacked and the blinds were high.
When you are in that position heads up, all you can really do is play a lotto ticket and go AI with whatever you got.
When you are short stacked and paying out what amounts to 1/5th your pile every hand just in blinds, you go with what you got.
